BrightWays

Change is at the heart of BrightWays’ capabilities. Whether you’re leading change for your company, seeking change in your employees, or needing change within yourself to further your career, BrightWays works with individuals and organizations in three ways:

Executive coaching of individuals and teams – often mid- to senior-level professional working in PR. communications. marketing, and advertising, as well as other industries.

Internal communications designed to create a line of site for an organization’s employees, leadership, members, donors, students/parents, etc. for driving engagement and results.

Organizational consulting for businesses and agencies looking to grow, hire, redesign, improve operations, and thrive.

Change is a topic I know well. BrightWays was born at “half time.” With 20+ years of experience under my belt, I redesigned my career to reflect what I loved most and was best at doing. I relocated to the Sunshine State, and I created BrightWays in 2015 to combine my deep communications, business, and senior leadership experience with my passion for helping people thrive at their careers and businesses reach their goals.

Amy Calvin

The golden thread of my career is change. I have a proven track record for conceiving and managing change strategies through coaching and communications that deliver measurable impact for individuals and organizations. With decades of experience, I have had the pleasure of working with clients of all shapes, sizes, and situations:

Large companies such as AT&T, Bayer, Emerson, General Mills, Hasbro, JetBlue, and Visa.

Small agencies like Spot (video content) and Vario Marketing (branding) and large
agencies like Weber Shandwick.

Nonprofits including Pathfinder Church (formerly St. John Church) and Sherwood Forest.

EXPERIENCE  Before starting BrightWays in 2015, I was SVP and Senior Partner at FleishmanHillard (FH), a leading global communications firm. Over the course of my 15-year tenure, I led the largest practice group at FH’s headquarters in St. Louis; headed up the agency’s largest account (AT&T); and served as an internal and change communications strategist for dozens of blue-chip clients. I was honored to serve as one of the top 40 leaders on FH’s global senior management committee.

In addition, I was a senior communications and change consultant at Willis Towers Watson, a global professional services firm, and led corporate communications at Edison Brothers Stores, a $1 billion apparel and footwear specialty store retailer.

EDUCATION  I graduated magna cum laude from University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree from the acclaimed School of Journalism. In addition to executive education in business leadership from Babson College in Boston, I earned my coaching credentials (PCC) from the International Coach Federation after completing the certified professional coaching program at the University of Miami. I am also a SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resource Management – Senior Certified Professional).

PERSONAL  While spending most of my life in St. Louis, Mo., I’m now a happily tanned resident of St. Petersburg, Fla., where I reside with my two cats, Emma and Ms. Bea. I believe in working hard and playing hard, with a special love for God, my girlfriends, beach hopping, Cabernet, Jimmy Buffett, and a good 5K race.

The inspiration for BrightWays’ logo is a firefly. It symbolizes illumination – the power we each have within us to reach our professional and organizational goals. If you look carefully, you’ll see the firefly is constructed using the letters B and W.

Bright = Light, revealing, promising –
as well as brilliant, smart, clever

Ways = Solution, path, plan, journey
